Development for 3-5 years

Completing this course will contribute 1 hour and 30 minutes of NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Accredited PD in the priority area of Delivery and Assessment of NSW Curriculum/EYLF addressing Standard Descriptor(s) 2.5.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.

Completing Pre-Reading for 3-5 years LIVE will contribute 2 hours of NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Accredited PD in the priority area of Delivery and Assessment of NSW Curriculum/EYLF addressing standard descriptors 2.1.2, 2.5.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.

Course includes:
- literacy according to EYLF
- speech, oral and language development
​​​​​​​- play based learning and literacy
- 5 pre reading skills explained
- vocabulary and comprehension
- effective, simple games and strategies to help with pre-reading
- ways to innovate on a text
- how to incorporate pre-reading skills into the daily routine

Participants will be sent a link to a google drive with an abundance of resources.
**Educators will be required to complete a questionnaire during the course and a Certificate of Attendance will be sent via email** Please note: To receive your NESA hours you will need to watch this live. 

 

School Readiness: Literacy and Numeracy- A course for parents

(targeted age group: preschoolers 3-5 year olds)

Workshop or live webinar includes:

  • mathematical language/basic concepts 

  • practical and hands on activities

  • number recognition and counting

  • understanding number value, one to one correspondence

  • pre reading skills explained and how to help your child with reading

  • fine motor and writing development

What skills do young children need?

This webinar will focus on:
